i feel more confused than ever
by BlackWolf inwell i know i've been posting a lot of topics like this lately and i'm sorry if i sound whiny or annoying.
my parents were asking me why i was so upset lately and i ended up just telling them the whole truth.
i told them i don't believe in god or the bible because i don't have any evidence of anything.

"...I could live my life doing what I love and possibly be killed at armeggedon."
BlackWolf, If you don't believe in God or the Bible then why should you fear Armageddon? It's not going to happen.
It sounds like you need to express yourself desperately but your parents and sisters are not people you can talk to. Tell your parents to get you a doctor. That will make them believe that you are just going through a phase and hopefully not apostate.

JohnAquila:
"I'm not familiar with this, what WT publications is this information found in?"
John, it's in Charles Russell's Studies In The Scriptures. The Time Is At Hand has most of the info. Sorry I'm a little rushed so I can't give any details yet.

You may want to bring up the fact that there were 3 different 1914 teachings throughout the history of the Watchtower.
- From late 19th century to early 20th century they taught that 1799 was the beginning of the end and the world would end by 1914. No earthquakes or pestilence Matthew 24 was supposed to have been fulfilled during the 1800 year period after Christ. Armageddon was a 40 year period of social collapse between 1874 and 1914. It was to be a slow motion collapse throughout that period culminating in pure social chaos at the end. No earthquake or fireballs etc.1914 was to be the beginning of the Millennium and the beginning of world wide peace.
- After WW1 embarrassed the Bible Students by standing their prophecy on its head they then taught, throughout the 20th century, that 1914 was the beginning of the end with the Great Tribulation/Armageddon being a short period of time, months or a few years at most, happening within the lifetime of those alive in 1914.
- Early 21st century: "Overlapping generations".
I'm sure you'll get even more dumbfounded stares from them if you tell them this.

Anyone seen this new "Bad Association" video at the Convention yet?
by WingCommander ini read on another thread (on another forum) where someone mentioned a truly guilt-inducing, cringe-worthy, "bad association" video that was played at this summers rc's.
here is how that person described it:.
"the video about "bad association" was really weird.

I think the Watchtower was trying to get the message across that associating with non-Witnesses can be bad luck even if they don't do anything directly to harm you. -

Do we have consensus that Mr Jackson was wearing a gold Apple Watch?
by StarTrekAngel ini mean, we have discussed mr morris' "rolex" but many also pointed out to the potential for a knock-out.
i don't think there are apple watch knock outs out there, are they?

"...they have scrapped district oversears these past few years thats like the catholic church scrapping bishops"
What I've never understood about the idea of scrapping DOs is how the COs are going to get instructions from the GB. Who is above a DO, a Zone or Branch Overseer? I always thought that mid level management was necessary for any bureaucracy.

"I could actually see him in my mind's eye drooling in anticipation of the slaughter of billions of innocents...I bet if JW's were in charge of this planet like fundamentalist Muslims are in some countries they would eagerly set about in the systematic slaughter of "the wicked"."
Indeed they would but it should be seen in a broader context than just Witnesses alone. A substantial percentage of our population believes that those who do not believe as they do are going to be infinitely tortured throughout eternity. That is worse than the JW brutal but relatively quick and eternal death. Such a mentality is rooted in this nation's (U.S.) fundamentalist Judeo-Christian heritage.

I know full well that there is a spectrum of "Gay" behavior which I feel is the reason behind the symbolism of the rainbow flag but, based on my experience, there are quite a few of the feminized ones. I would not consider them to be too small of a minority. 30-50%+ perhaps? -

Won't get fooled again ...Moon Landing.
by The Rebel inso i was fooled by the witnesses.
